ED WOODS

A Mother's Day First

Mom preferred a flight
as celebration
sightseeing over Toronto
then fish and chips
at the flight center picnic table

lush green landscape
between runways
scented of crops grown
and  fuel spent

propellers droned
tires squealed
happy people came and went
then a last tea before home

today
Mother’s Day
flowerless and motherless
no smiles or stories
of her latest antics

I salute Mom’s picture
and lock of hair

*Editor's note:  Ed's Mother passed away recently as this is a tribute to her.

SUSAN DAVIS

Susan David launched her new book "SWIMS" today at the Unitarian church on Dundurn Street.

I was very pleased to see such a good crowd on this rather dismal looking day.  The atmosphere inside was warm and welcoming with a lovely buffet set up for the guests.

Susan's new book is beautiful with its art work and lovely poetry and well worth purchasing..

SWIMS
Susan read from her book for a short period of time which was well received by those assembled.

A lovely afternoon spent with compatible people.
